One day project 2

within this project, we were tasked with making a story with a colour we have chosen.

The colour I have chosen is called vermilion, I went with this colour cause it my favorite colour and how bright and intense this colour is

What I did next was do some research and what I found some information about most vermilion now are synthetic as the originally was made from cinnabar which is quiet toxic.

But what I also found was a myth tyats was a battle between the dragon and the elephant.

In witch the dragon wraps around and bits ther elephant causing it to fall over and crush the dragon bother animal dyed and their blood being combined made ther colour vermilion.

I did a couple of sketch for this story as it was a interesting myth about the colour I wanted to illustrated this as my colour story

This is what I ended up with I wanted to draw the this scene of the drying coiled around the elephant.

What I use are oil pastels, watercolour and gouache to make this piece.

Then I scanned them and edited it on photoshop

I ended up doing a simple back ground mostly inspired by some of ther illustrations I have found based on this myth and I didn't want it to be the main focus I also need to make sure the colour vermilion is mainly showing.
